Former F1 driver suffers Nurburgring 24 Hours disqualification as license stripped

Cody Rhodes in

Former F1 driver Timo Glock has been disqualified from the 2026 Nürburgring 24 Hours and stripped of his Nordschleife license.

The German, who had been racing in the #69 McLaren featuring a Michael Schumacher-inspired 1995 Benetton livery, committed a significant violation during a night stint.

Glock drove at 112km/h through a Code 60 zone, resulting in a severe punishment from race control. As it was his second offence, he was disqualified from the race and stripped of his licence.

The stewards’ report read: “Timo Glock has received a penalty for the second time. As he has received an additional two penalty points, this has resulted in the loss of his Nordschleife licence.

“At the same time, it means he is disqualified.”

Glock must now apply for reinstatement and retake the mandatory e-learning course in order to regain his licence and be eligible to compete in future Nordschleife races.

His team-mates — Martin Kirchhöfer, Ben Dörr and Timo Scheider — were allowed to continue the 24-hour race, just without the former Toyota F1 driver.
