Just as in Saturday’s Sprint, Mercedes’ George Russell starts from pole for the Canadian Grand Prix with team mate Kimi Antonelli alongside him. And once again they will pursued into Turn 1 by the row-two McLarens of Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri.
The symmetry is broken on row three, with Lewis Hamilton fifth, separated from P8 Ferrari team mate Charles Leclerc by the Red Bulls of Max Verstappen and Isack Hadjar. Superb qualifying performances from Racing Bulls’ Arvid Lindblad and Alpine’s Franco Colapinto means they complete the top 10.
At the rear of the order, Lance Stroll starts his home race from the pit lane after Aston Martin opted to change power unit elements on his car ahead of the Grand Prix. The Canadian had qualified 21st.
