Ed Carpenter tells former F1 driver ‘fuck you’ after Indy 500 crash

Ed Carpenter pointed the finger and told former F1 driver Takuma Sato to “fuck you” following a race-ending Indy 500.

On the restart following an incident on Lap 18 between Ryan Hunter-Reay and Katherine Legge ending her Double Duty hopes, Carpenter was in a gaggle of cars, including two-time Indy 500 winner Sato.

Sato appeared unaware that Carpenter was there as the oval-specialist then spun out into the Turn 1 wall, destroying his car.

After climbing out, Carpenter waited for Sato to come around under caution, and then pointed the finger and visibly told Sato to “fuck you” twice.

On Lap 35, Caio Collet leads from Conor Daly, both having not pitted, with Alex Palou the de facto leader, with Josef Newgarden eighth on the road.
