Prost reportedly injured in robbery at home in Switzerland | Formula 1

Four-times Formula 1 world champion Alain Prost was injured during a break-in at his home in Switzerland, according to reports.

Blick reported Prost suffered a minor head injury after a group of masked invaders entered his home on Tuesday. One of Prost’s sons was forced to empty the family’s safe.

Prost, 71, raced in F1 between 1980 and 1993. He has a residence in the vicinity of Lake Geneva.

A statement issued by the prosecutors did not confirm the identities of any victims. “The perpetrators entered the residence while the occupants were present, threatened them, and forced one family member to open a safe before fleeing with the stolen goods,” it said. “Despite the extensive search operation launched, the perpetrators have not yet been apprehended.”

The thieves “broke into the house [and] once inside, threatened the occupants and inflicted minor head injuries upon one family member, under circumstances that remain to be established,” the statement added.
