Esteban Ocon is at risk of disqualification from the Canadian Sprint, following a technical infringement with his car.
The Frenchman was referred to the stewards by FIA technical delegate Jo Bauer, after it was found that Ocon’s left rear tyre was below the legal minimum tyre pressure.
According to Bauer’s report: “On the grid the tyre pressures of car number 31 were checked at 11:51 and all wheels were fitted to the car at 11:52, this all being in compliance with FIA-F1-DOC 062A Tyre Operating Procedures.
“But at 11:56, air was released on the left rear tyre with the wheel fitted to the car. As this is not in compliance with Point 2.5, Point 2.7 and Point 2.8 of FIA-F1-DOC-062A Tyre Operating Procedure, I am referring this matter to the stewards for their consideration.”
Following Bauer’s referral, the stewards have decided to investigate the matter, putting Ocon at risk of disqualification after finishing in 13th.
The one-time grand prix winner will visit the officials at 14:45 local time.
