With the Nordschleife battered by rain throughout the night session, it meant there was no improvement on the times set from the earlier afternoon outing ahead of the Nürburgring 24 Hours.
The conditions were such that Max Verstappen managed only one slow lap during the night-time outing, albeit meaningful as all drivers have to conduct at least one lap in the dark, no matter the conditions.
The BMW M4 GT3 #1 Rowe Racing set the leading time in the second qualifying practice of 9:19.884s.
That was 65 seconds slower than the best lap of the day in the afternoon from the #80 Mercedes-AMG Team Ravenol.
Verstappen Racing, spearheaded by its four-time F1 champion, was third on the day, 3.6s off the pace.
In the wet at night, Dani Juncadella recorded Verstappen Racing’s best time with a 9:34.713s.
